Catholic Sisters Communication Network - CSCN

History

The Catholic Sisters Communication Network (CSCN) is an initiative of the Conrad N Hilton Foundation in partnership with the Association of Religious in Uganda, (ARU). CSCN was established in 2023 with a primary goal to strengthen the Catholic Sisters Communication Network and amplify the work of Catholic Sisters in Uganda, enhancing content and partnership to advocate for the underserved. We are registered with Uganda registration bureau that has issued a certificate of registration that is fully certified by the government of Uganda.

Objectives

(i). Training five (5) Catholic Sisters in certificate in journalism and media production to increase the number of Sisters to 17.

(ii). Documenting sisters’ ministries through articles, video clips, photographs, podcasts and blogs, among others and sharing them through different media outlets.

(iii). Collaborate with other networks like anti-human trafficking, elderly care, Health Network and other ARU programs to create awareness and publicize their advocacy work.

(iv). Conduct coaching webinars for Sisters communicators. 

Achievements

(i). The entity is duly registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau as “Religious Sisters Communicators Foundation Uganda Limited” (Limited by Guarantee without share capital), complete with a postal address as P.O BOX 136754, Kampala, Uganda.

(ii). Baseline survey was successfully carried out.

(iii). Project application for phase II was submitted and approved and the funds already received.

(iv). Report for phase I of the project was submitted to Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
