Forming Hearts for Mission: FoMRU Hosts National Courses for Novices and Junior Professed

By Benedict Mukoni……………………

The Formation Ministry of the Religious in Uganda (FoMRU), an arm of the Association of Religious in Uganda, this year is delighted to host two of its annual outstanding programs; the Inter-Institutes Novices’ and the Inter-Institutes Junior Professed National course at St. Mbaaga’s Major Seminary Ggaba.

The Novices’ Course was hosted from May 24 – June 21, while that of the Junior professed started on June 28 and it is on-going up to July 28, 2025.

The purpose of these courses is to prepare Novices for their first vows in consecrated life and to deepen the Junior Professed understanding of the contemporary world ahead of their perpetual/ final vows.

The topics covered in these two courses slightly differ from one cohort to another but a few of them among others include; Canonical Norms, Mental Health understanding and living as a human person, integration of cultural beliefs and practices into consecrated life and Embracing Synodality in the Mission.
